My favorite bar on planet earth. I've traveled to several big cities and hit a lot of hot spots, but nothing quite compares to the  comfort of this place. Gorgeous wood bar, pictures and mementos behind the bar the regulars have given to them over their 75 years of operation, along with the nicest bartenders you'll ever meet. Decent beer selection, great wine and liquor selection, and a retail section up front with steaks and other items for gifts.

My advice to you is to hit this place up on a Saturday afternoon, order your cocktail of choice then just observe the regulars sitting at the bar around you. The character of each of these people is often imitated but never quite duplicated and it makes this place unique and somewhere I'm proud to call home.

What a cool place! The sign caught our attention. It said bar and packaged liquor. We had never really seen a sign like that so we decided to pop in and see what's up. There is a full bar. I was able to get the most delicious bloody mary while my husband had a crown and 7.

There is a cool selection of liquor to browse. We bought a couple bottles that we had never seen before. The guy working seemed pretty knowledgable about the bottled liquor and was quick to answer any questions they had. He gave us prompt and courteous service.

They also had a cooler with wines and a separate cooler that actually had some steaks and cheese. My husband and I joked about it being a one stop shop for Valentine's day!

It did lose one star because it was a bit dusty in there. It could use a good cleaning.

This bar reminds me of the New Orleans bars of the yesteryear with a grand oak bar and white tiled floors.

The crowd is a good mix of young and old. There are plenty of televisions to watch sports and pool tables in the back.

The bar had a good selection of beer and whiskey.

This was a very exciting place to watch game 7 of the 2016 World Series. Go Cubs!

I recently moved to Hammond, La and I was looking for a new place to call my "home bar". I visited Crescent with a group of friends who have lived in Hammond for years. It had a homey feel to it.
The bartender was very friendly with everyone. Quick to attend to everyone as well. The owner, Mr. Ricky, was there too. He was actually working behind the bar.

This bar has a few great things: you can pick the music you want to listen too (you have to pay for it of course - but it's just an app you download to your phone), two pool tables in the back room, and friendly staff.

The only bad thing about the place is that it's very small.

We went to the Crescent on a Friday night, so it probably is a little different than a weekday crowd, but it was a good time! We met Mr. Ricky, the owner, and he was super friendly. The crowd was a mixed bag, from the older crowd (which is kinda the rap they get) to college kids there to play pool in the back.

I was impressed with the bar selection and the coolers in the front to get bottles of wine to split, if you so desire. I also liked their top shelf bourbon selection.  The thing that was most impressive is that they have a front corner of retail for wine and spirits. An amazingly vast selection, who woulda thought you could by St. Germaine or Lillet from a bar's "take home" section. Very cool and convenient for continuing an after party after 2am.
